HYA Tuiṭhaphai Joint HQ condemns Thingkangphai firing incident
The Hmar Youth Association Tuiṭhaphai Jt Headquarters had condemned the firing incident at Thingkangphai on the night of October 14, 2020, in which innocent HYA members from Bethel, Rengkai and Saikot villages who boarded the white Scorpio were forcibly halted by miscreants armed groups with guns and logs.
This was stated in a press handout made by the HYA Tuiṭhaphai Jhq on the 18th of October, 2020. The HYA members were planning to watch the Futsal final match between HYA Joint Hqrs, Tuiṭhaphai and Lamka HYA at Kawnpui Turf playground, the statement added.
The HYA members were threatened with dire consequences unless they obliged to vacate the vehicle immediately or else would be shot dead. After they vacate the vehicle, the miscreants began shooting the vehicle from both sides and the vehicle bears the brunch of the notorious criminals, the HYA claimed.
The HYA said it demands a genuine apology and reasonable compensation to the owner of the vehicle from the culprits.
Meanwhile, the Hmar Returnees’ Association also said that it is dismayed over the barbaric act of the armed miscreants who assaulted innocent civilians and condemned the “cowardly act.” HRA also calls for an unconditional apology and compensation at the earliest.
