No government doctor, nurse or dispensary building, says Parvachawm VA

Parvachawm village authority said they have submitted to the Chief Medical Officer of Pherzawl District to inform him that there are no government doctor, nurse of dispensary in their village.

The letter comes after the VA’s earlier letter which states that “there is a nurse” on duty at Parvachawm.

The village authority clarified that there is “indeed one nurse stationed” in their village, but she is not a government staff. “She is an employee of a private health care provider – New Life Trust” who has been working from June 2020 at their village with her husband. The village leaders also said that they even built a house for the coulpe as there is no government building or health centre.

There have been no gevernment healthcare workers posted in our village till date, they said, adding that there are also no government medical facilities like dispensary or quarters for staff.

They also said that villagers are forced to visit neighbouring state of Mizoram whenever there is a serious health issue.

The village authority of Parvachawm also appealed to the Pherzawl District health officials and the Manipur state health officials to make proper facilities in their village.

The letter addressed to the CMO of Pherzawl District was signed by Parvachawm VA Secretary & Chairman.
