Master Lalkansung receives National Bravery Award 

CCPur: Lalkansung, a 10-year-old boy from Manipur’s Muolbem village in Churachandpur District, received the prestigious National Child Award for Exceptional Achievements – Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purrashkar 2020 (Bravery) today from President Ram Nath Kovind.

The award ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.

Lalkansung is credited for his brave act that saves three girls from drowning at Tuițhapui river on July 2, 2019.

Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has sent a congratulatory message to the young boy using his Twitter account. “Congratulations to Master Lalkansung of Muolbem, Churachandpur on receiving the Presidents’ Bravery Award. May the God bless you,” the CM tweeted.

The bravery award comes with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a tablet, a medal, a certificate and a citation and Lalkansung along with other awardees will participate in the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi on the 26th of this month.

They will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this week.

Lalkansung is the youngest son of Hranglienkhum and has just passed out his 4th standard at St Teresa’s School in Tuitengphai Village.
