Protests at Lungthulien & Senvon villages against delay in electrification

Senvon/Lungthulien: Pherzawl District’s Lungthulien and Senvon villages this morning witnessed huge protests against the slow work of electrification even as villagers are still beating dark cold nights without electricity.

Protesters in a widely circulated video urged the central government to intervene in this matter are calling for action against corrupt workers. “We also want electricity,” they chanted.

Meanwhile, villagers of Senvon have also taken out a protest rally against slow electrification work at their own village. They urged the government to immediately look into the matter. “We appeal directly to our Chief Minister Pu Biren Singh to direct officials accomplish the national mission immediately,” they said.

Some villages in Pherzawl District are still without electricity.
