Hmarkhawlien, September 22, 2020: The Hmar People’s Convention(D)-HQ has announced that it recognised the HPC-D(Cachar) and that it will support the group in achieving the dreams of the Hmar tribe.
The HPC-D(HQ) said in a statement that a joint meeting of the two groups was held in Hmarkhawlien on September 21, 2020 during which the the HQ approved the aims and objectives of the Cachar chapter.
“The HPC-D(Cachar) is within its rights to demand a Cachar Hmar Autonomous Council (under State Act) and we will support them,” the outfit said in a statement signed by self-styled information secrtary Stanley Hmar.
