Pherzawl District gets first minister since creation; CCPur left empty-handed

After a major Cabinet reshuffle by the BJP-led coalition government in Manipur, the largest and fast-developing District of Churachandpur is left with no minister after Pu V Hangkhanlian was relieved of his agriculture & vety portfolio.

Meanwhile, Pherzawl District got its first minister since its creation in December 2016. Newly inducted minister Pu Vungzagin Valte represents Thanlon constituency in the district.

The state government is also left with no woman in the Cabinet as it also dropped Nemcha Kipngen, the lone woman minister in the reshuffle.

Among the 16 districts in the state, currently 10 districts – Bishenpur, Thoubal, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Noney, Tengnoupal, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Kakching & Jiribam are left with no ministers.
