Sielmat (Churachandpur): Chinkham Modern High School (CMHS) has exempted students from paying tuition fees for 6 months i.e. April – September 2020. This was stated by CMHS Managing Director Mr. Zamkholian at a meeting held with the parents and school authorities yesterday at the school premises in Zomi Colony.
The state government in an order issued on Monday authorise all private and aided schools (other than govt schools and schools under the central) to collect monthly payable fees of 30 per cent from parents of the students. Which in turn, the school authority is ordered to pay it’s staff/teachers, monthly payable of 50 per cent accounted for lockdown holidays.
During yesterday’s meeting, the Managing Director stated that as everyone is well aware of the crisis and the hardship caused by the pandemic, parents are finding it hard to pay all the tuition fees for this period. “So, in a good gesture the parents need not to pay the said tuition fees,” he said.
The joint meeting with teacher, school authority and parents also collectively agreed to pay full tuition fees from the month of October until further notice or another meeting is held.
