Two-Wheeler Rally for women in Churachandpur
CCPur: A two-wheeler motor rally was organised by the CCPur District Police on January 15 to mark the week-long 31st National Road Safety Week at Peace Ground in Tuibong.
The rally was flagged off by ADCC Chairman T Paukhanlian. The Road Safety Week was held from January 13-17.
The rally was also attended by CCPur SP Amrita Sinha and Inspector and OC of Traffic James Vaiphei.
Various activities were also taken up by the district police in connection with the road safety week.
The Superintendent of Police while stating the importance good eyesight for drivers said that free medical and eye checkup camps will be organised for drivers of passenger vehicles like Winger, Diesel Auto, Taxi and others in the near future.
Officer In-charge of Traffic informed the rally that nearly 200 motor vehicles are registered every month. He said the steps taken by police alone cannot solve traffic problems. Citizens awareness and assistance is required and as such people must support and coordinate with traffic police, he said.
James also appealed to all two wheel drivers to wear helmet. Pillion riders will also need to wear their helmets in the near future, he added.
