The last rites of Mr. Arambam Ranjan (35) killed in an ATM robbery case in front of SBI Churachandpur main branch was performed yesterday at Zou veng Khuga Tampak, Churachandpur.
Mr. Arambam’s dead body was taken from Churachandpur District Hospital on September 28. After that, a procession along Tiddim road followed and his body was cremated at Zou Veng. All accused in the ATM robbery and murder case have been arrested and with the state government assurance, Ranjan’s dead body was taken out from district hospital morgue.
JAC formed against the killing of Ranjan lauded the joint efforts of the Kuki Inpi, Hmar Inpui GHQ, YPA GHQ, MPC Manipur, UZO GHQ, ZYO GHQ, Zenhang Lamka VA & also the district police.
The accused shot Arambam Ranjan at point-blank range on September 4 and escaped with a cash load of Rs. 1.15 crore from Ranjan’s custody. The stolen cash is yet to be fully recovered.
